Petites - Drowning in Your Wide Leg Jeans

This trend has been building for a while now. You managed to elegantly sidestep it last summer and you were still rocking your look, but somehow this summer the skinny jean trend is unavoidably dated and you're feeling left out, left behind, and frustrated. Each time you put the wide-leg pants on, you need heels - HIGH heels - or you just feel dumpy. Seriously, this is not cool! Why is this happening, and how can you fix it?

First of all, you are not alone, you are not imagining your challenges, and yes, you can join the fun. I bet you're completely used to shortening your pants. They're usually pooling at the bottom and about to trip you up. Shortening them is a must, not an option, right?

Nowadays, you get the unexpected joy of trying on jeans and being able to see your toes peeking out. That's great! What a change. :) The thing is, just because you're not about to fall over them doesn't mean the pants are the right length. Remember who they were made for - she's 5'7" (170cm) at least. Where would the jeans sit on her? Quite a lot higher up, we can be sure. The model hasn't changed, the style has.

Please, for the love of your sanity, shorten your jeans! Properly!

You can wear them flat. You simply need to end them at the point they were designed to be ended - most likely just above your ankle.

Now this brings us to the next misconception that petites tend to assume: just because you are short does not mean you have short legs! Short legs are all about proportions, not your height. If you want your legs to look longer, wear mid-rise or high-rise bottoms. It's all about the classic Ratio of Thirds. And with that, I can sense another Blog Post coming up...
